Men's Fashion
Derived from the Prussian Waffenrock (military tunic), the Gakuran is a school uniform used by middle to high school boys in Japan. It is usually identifiable with its standing collar with colors ranging from black to navy blue and is mostly similar to formal minimalist suits as the Indian Nehru Jacket. It has two types one being the Tanran with a shorter lower hem, and the Chouran, having a longer lower hem. It has since become a popular icon associated with Japanese culture.
