Dien Bien Phu

The Battle of Dien Bien Phu was a climactic confrontation set during the First Indochina War. A stunning and decisive victory for the Vietminh and a shocking and disastrous defeat for French Colonial forces in the Far East. It would signal France's withdrawal from the region ending the First Indochina War and splitting the region north and south. What follows would be the Second Indochina War (commonly known as the Vietnam War).
